Choranai is a musician and town planner. She loves creating music, making art, learning how to play new instruments and sharing her thoughts on town planning, art and travel.

MUSIC

Choranai has been playing guitar since 1992. In 1996 she discovered bass guitar. She has been a solo singer/songwriter since 1997.

    Back in the day my little sister and I both made up a bus company and wrote a jingle for it. We recorded it and kept it for many years to laugh at.   This is the add I made to accompany our jingle and bus company. I created the animation in a few hours based on a free online animation maker – Powtoon. I just needed to make something really quick to accompany the jingle. It fades the end of the jingle because I couldn’t figure out how to get the whole tune in there, but most of it’s there and you get the drift!   It’s the best jingle we ever wrote. We came up with a few other hairy ones but none were good enough to keep.......

    I captured a plastic bag in the wind on one of my walks with the boys through the burbs.       I’m not a big watcher of movies.  I wanted to see The Martian at the drive-in but we never got around to it as I was pregnant and uncomfortable… and by the time it was available to rent I have never gotten around to watching it.  Paddy’s seen it… he watched it thinking I didn’t want to watch it, but I did… but now that he’s seen it I don’t think I’ll end up watching it because I don’t like watching movies by myself.  I don’t really have the time to watch movies during the day because I get so interrupted taking care of the boys.   Anyway,......

    As an adolescent teenager I kept a diary, which is pretty typical of a lot of teenage girls.  I kept these diaries and they have been sitting in my bookcase for every single house move I’ve endured in my adult years.  I’m not sure why I keep them so open and accessible… but this year I’ve actually started to re-read them.  What would my current self say to my teenage self all those years ago?   March 1997 Your mind is full of love. Learn to prioritise and focus on what will make you stronger as a person.  Focusing on yourself will work wonders on transitioning the negative energy into something better....
